Brief overview of the episode:

Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) injuries are the most common ligament injury of the knee. Sports like skiing, football, soccer, rugby, wrestling and hockey are some of the main causes.

MCL injures are graded I-III. Grade I is pain with no gapping or instability, II is partial gapping and III is gapping without an end feel. Recovery time averages at about 3 weeks. With grade I averaging about 10 days, II about 20 and III closer to 60days.

Often times MCL injures occur with another injury to the knee. These can include ACL, bone bruise, meniscus, fractures, avulsions and capsular corner injuries.
